Carbide end mill cutters are the most commonly used milling cutters on CNC machine tools. They have cutting tools on the cylindrical surface and end face, which can be cut at the same time or individually. Carbide end mills can be used for face milling, pocket milling, step milling and copy milling.

Cutting method
When a carbide end mill cutters performs climb milling (also known as co-rotating milling), the workpiece feed direction is the same as the rotation direction of the tungsten steel milling cutter in the cutting area. The chip thickness is gradually reduced from the beginning until the end of the cut is zero in perimeter milling; in up milling (also known as reverse milling), the feed direction of the workpiece and the rotation of the cutter in the cutting area The direction is just the opposite. The chip thickness starts at zero and then gradually increases as the cutting progresses.
Carbide end mills cutters start cutting at zero chip thickness during up-cut milling, which creates high cutting forces that push the tungsten mill and workpiece away from each other. After the tungsten steel milling cutter insert is forcibly pushed into the kerf, it usually comes into contact with the machined hardened surface caused by the cutting insert, and at the same time produces a friction and polishing effect under the action of friction and high temperature. Cutting forces also lift the workpiece from the table more easily.
